Lorri & Don first met July 30, 1999. They were set up by friends on a blind date. They met at Lorri's apartment in Long Beach, where they discovered their mutual love for chilies. Lorri had been collecting hot sauces for some time, and had been displaying the various bottles on homemade racks in her kitchen. Because her collection already included nearly 100-bottles, they spent quite a few hours discussing the various sauces. Don, not being a collector, was an avid consumer of gourmet hot sauces having at least 30 bottles in his refrigerator that he used on a regular basis.
    Lorri & Don hit it off right away, and started dating. Everywhere they went they kept their eyes out for new and unusual sauces, only this time they would buy 2 bottles: one for Lorri's collection wall and one they could open, sample, and enjoy. It wasn't long before the collection had nearly doubled.
    After a couple of years, Lorri & Don bought a house together in Acton, California where they were wed on 8/3/2002. All of their friends knew of their love of hot sauce and their collection and would be challenged to try to find a sauce these two didn't have as birthday, Christmas, and holiday gifts. Soon friends were telling other friends about the two hot sauce aficionados, and those friends were asking where they could purchase some of the collection treasures Lorri & Don had found. Thus "Lil' Spitfire's School of Heat, Inc." was born.
    Lorri & Don had discussed the idea of opening their very own hot sauce shop, but the time & money involved would be tremendous considering Don works as a full time employee in the Motion Picture Industry, and Lorri works as a full time educator in the Los Angeles Unified School System. The newlyweds were also discussing the possibilities of starting their own family and felt Lorri would be better off as a "stay-at-home" mom. This reaffirmed their idea of opening their own hot sauce store online.
    Finally they decided to take the plunge and test the waters at the local open-air market in Saugus, Ca. The response was overwhelming! They have had help from family and friends along the way, and the business continues to grow. They now carry over 600 lines of hot sauces, BBQ sauces, jerks, rubs, seasonings, spices, gifts, specialty items and clothing. Lorri, being a teacher, decided on the "school of heat" concept where sauces could be put into grade levels according to their heat. And, everyone who knows Lorri knows she's a little spitfire!
    "Lil' Spitfire's School of Heat" is now a place where you can go to learn about the exciting world of peppers, hot sauces, and all foods "hot". Lorri & Don invite you to visit the "Library" to look up current information regarding peppers, the "Playground" to relax and play a few games, or the "Curriculum" to look at products by category, heat level (or grade level), or search for that unique product you've been searching for.
